2008 Day Camp Schedule & Fees

Get ready for great adventures at camp!  Camp Killoqua's Day Camp program gives campers in grades 1-8 the chance to try all kinds of fun activities, meet new friends and have fun at Killoqua's 185-acre site.

Each session includes a variety of general and theme activities – no two weeks are the same! All campers experience games, songs, swimming, boating, outdoor cooking, crafts, and lots more. Groups may also choose out-of-camp trips to local parks, by foot (all ages) or by bike (grades 5-8). Campers are divided into groups, each with a caring, trained counselor. The adult-to-camper ratio is 1:10. Campers bring a sack lunch; a daily snack is provided.

Day camp hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Extended hours: 7:30 – 9:00am and 4:00 – 5:30pm

Want to sample the fun of an overnight experience at Killoqua?  Sessions 3 and 5 of day camp include an overnight option for grades 4-8. Plus, session 9 of resident camp is a special three-day program designed just for grades 1-6.

GRADES 1-5
A portion of each day relates to the theme of the week.

Happy Trails  (Session 3, July 14-18)
Giddy up – it’s western week at day camp. Rustle up your own cowboy and cowgirl costumes, cook food like they did in the “old west” and play western-style games. You’ll also get to visit the camp cow ponies.  (Please note there pardner, campers will visit the horses but not ride them.) Campers in graders 4-8 can choose the overnight camp-out Thursday night.

Adventures in Flight (Session 4, July 21-25)
Kites and planes and rockets, oh my! This week will be filled with aviation adventure as you explore what makes things fly.

Pirates of Killoqua  (Session 5, July 28-August 1)

The 2008 Killoqua Summer Games (Session 6, August 4-8)
Beijing may have the Summer Olympics, but they’ve got nothing on us! These are summer games like you’ve never seen them. It’s all in good team fun as you join zany tournaments, run obstacle courses, and, of course, win medals for your team.

Safari Spectacular (Session 7, August 11-15)
What creatures live in the wilds of Killoqua?  Have a roaring good time as we discover the wildlife at Killoqua and beyond. Meet guest animals, do animal craft projects, and explore the trails at camp.

Superheroes   (Session 8, August 18-22)
Superheroes are everywhere – both at camp and beyond.  You’ll take on your own superhero personality and also meet everyday heroes like firefighters and police officers.

Spies Like Us (Session 9, August 25-29)
This week, live the life of a camp spy. Stealth, daring, and intrigue are your middle names, as you learn the skills and make the tools to be a proper secret agent. You may even be able to save Killoqua in its hour of need!

GRADES 6-8: Trek
Designed just for older campers, the Trek unit features special activities throughout the summer.  Each session, Trekkers choose their week’s program.  In addition to general day camp activities, campers can choose archery, the climbing wall, longer bikes trips, photography, new sports, advanced outdoor living skills, new twist on waterfront activities and more.  We plan to have some great adventures!
