Discovery Club Member
Camp Fire USA is all about progression in its activities, and Discovery Clubs let you branch out in all kinds of new directions.
Members have a big role in deciding what they want to do as a club. You can choose activities like exploring your community, working with younger kids, hosting an event, earning Camp Fire honors, doing service projects, making ceremonial attire, and more. You’ll also develop important skills as a peer leader as your group works together. If you like working with the same close-knit group of peers, Discovery could be just the right program for you!
Ages: Grades 6-8.

Timewise:  Generally 2-3 meetings or events each month.

Club Aide
Learn and practice leadership skills as you help lead a Camp Fire USA club.  Want to share Camp Fire with younger people? Build your experience working with children and learn how to plan and lead club activities. After some training workshops, you’ll choose to work with one club throughout the year, or with different clubs on short-term assignments as an activity specialist. You’ll be matched with adult leaders who’ll coach you and give you chance to lead.
Ages:
Grades 6-8, or at least 12 years old.

Timewise:  Attend training session first. Time with club is generally about four meetings a month. Attend occasional club aide gatherings to share ideas with your peers.

Horizon Teens In Action (HTIA)
High school students have lots of demands on their time, but HTIA can fit into even the busiest schedules!
It’s the same idea as DTIA – your group picks service learning projects and makes them happen. Each event has a different lead planner. HTIA projects can be diverse: everything from assisting with the Special Olympics to making quilts for disaster relief groups, to planning and hosting a leadership conference for Pacific Northwest teens! Click for more information!
Ages: Grades 9-12.
Timewise:  One meeting plus one service project each month. Flexible monthly participation.

Horizon Club Member
You’re leaders – the ones younger kids look up to, and the ones who have the biggest role in creating your program.
The highest level of the club program. You’ll have adult advisors to support you, but in Horizon, it’s the members who make things happen. You decide how often you meet, what those meetings are like, and what activities your club chooses. Want to travel? Plan a trip. Like being a leader? Find ways to coach younger kids. Need some down time? Come up with fun recreational activities your group can do together. You can also take part in classic Camp Fire USA activities, like completing ceremonial attire, leading a council fire or earning your WoHeLo Award, Camp Fire’s highest honor.
Ages: Grades 9-12.
Timewise:  Varies by Club – whatever works for you.

Apprentice Leader
Try out being a club leader before turning 18!
You can apprentice as a club leader, assistant or co-leader. Apprentice leaders have lots of responsibilities with their group, but also have an adult leader available to back them up. Take a lead role in planning and leading activities, running meetings, working with the kids and setting the tone for the club. A cool way to lead and learn.
Ages: Grades 9-12, or at least 15 years old.
Timewise:
Complete Club Aide training or equivalent, plus BASIC I and BASIC II Training.  Time with club is generally about four meetings a month, plus monthly Leader’s Meetings.  Attend occasional apprentice leader gatherings to share ideas with your peers.
