Teen Leadership
Day Camp Assistant  ~  Counselor-In-Training & Wrangler-In-Training

In Killoqua’s summer Leadership Programs, teens increase their skills and confidence as leaders, using the camp community as a supportive environment to take on new challenges. Sharpen your skills with children, learn to lead camp activities, and go behind the scenes to see what makes camp happen!

Counselor-In-Training & Wrangler-In-Training (CIT/WIT), Grades 11-12
(Resident Camp Program)
This is a valuable two-year program that trains its participants in lifelong leadership skills. If selected, you’ll create lasting friendships and memories as your group lives and learns together throughout your multi-week program.
CIT/WIT 2 runs sessions 3-6. CIT/WIT 1 runs sessions 6-9.

CITs develop important skills for working with children and each other—teaching positive behavior and values, listening skills, reinforcing creativity and much more. In addition you will learn about child development and how to work with campers with specials needs. As a CIT you will get lots of hands on experience working directly with younger campers under the mentorship or our trained camp staff.

WITs participate in many CIT activities and also work closely with the camp riding staff. Learn the skills riding instructor’s use, such as teaching riding and horse care, developing safe and fun activities, and managing a group of horses.

An application and references are required for this program; p
articipants must reapply each year.
